Just noticed this interesting post. A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to aquire this unique piece. It is a set of Erich Hartmann's uniform insignia with an autographed framed print of one of his victories on the Russian Front. In the frame is the note that came with the insignia to the man who knew, corresponded and was friends with Hartmann. He was a pilot and FAA examiner. This piece came from the man's estate. As a pilot myself it is one of my most prized items.

That visor looks like his wartime one, but with the original insignia replaced by west-german ones, I think you can see the stitch marks from the original insigniaComment
