    Hi guys,
my teething baby has allowed me a few precious seconds on the computer....so i'll be brief!

The blacklite "orange glow" of panzer rosa seems to occur only in some items and not others. This is because naturally not all fabric makers use the same dyes and the cloth could have been manufactured years apart. It seems that almost (I say "almost") all Erel panzer visors for example light up orange under blacklite....but thewn other genuine panzer shirmütze do not. I have also had (have) wraps that have bright orange glowing collar tabs but not shoulder straps (and visa-versa).

So....It is no definative test, but it is certainly not something to be afraid of (the bright orange glow). As for the tone of the various "rosa" waffenfarbe.....it varies with the year of manufacture, but generally the most desirable is the early deep rose pink as seen in Kenneth's post#10....but later it can get to that sort of coral pink (a soft salmon pink) tone like in Scott's post #12. The fakers usually settle for the soft pink and rarely attain the proper rose pink.

Ok...time to go bury my head in the pillow (well....for as long as the baby will allow me! Urgh......)
    Cheers all! Wade.

Of course you're right Wade, everyone didn't use the same dyes, but, I'm sure they all tried to achieve a similar Pink for the Panzer. But, again, color is in the eye of the beholder and some variations would naturally exist at the time and over time be affected by elements and ageing.

Hi Akira, many thanks for the info Here is a shot of the same strap on the left, minus the slip - on, together with another strap. I have checked the strap very closely for former embroidered insignia and there is nothing there. It did look like it in the earlier pic, but must have been an optical illusion I could see the same once you mentioned it. Wishful thinking on my part!
        Cheers, Ade.
