kuban and terek cossacks long coats

    Hi
Does anyone have a price for a cossack long coat. I have one for terek cossack with blue sleaveends and one for kuban cossack with red. I would need a current price since they are going for sale soon. If interested I love to send pics .
    best

If you look hard enough in any of the former republics of the Soviet Union or East Europe you'll find these,,,but without insignia.. They are cultural items that are sometimes still worn,,or old ones from families, or from the many film studios.. Don't just say 'I'll take it'!,,,It is very easy to 'badge this up' so be overly cautious and scrutinize to the highest degree...

YES GASPARE, you are absolutly right ! It is better to have a very robust documentation before buying this kind of thing

Interesting that both sleeve shields are the same construction, for different units. Also the colored cuffs look the same. Each of those, alone, would be enough to scare me away.

                        Hi

I been following the thread with much interest. I have them both home and I´ll say they are of similar construktion but not the same. There are not the same thread used if you look closely on the seams and on the stiching. They are from an older collection in southern Russia and have just surfaced in the west. I collect mainly soviet marshals from WWII and I´ll say that these are old in every aspect.Nothing new produced. I´ve been told from a big cossackcollector in the Us that these are official issues made by the germans and thereby are similar in construction.
