    369th Croatian@Stalingrad

    Hello,

Does anyone have a Nominal role or casualty list for the 369th Croatian Regiment under the 100th German Jaeger Div at Stalingrad?

My girlfreinds Grandfathers name was Franjo Kurnik KIA.

    Any help would be appreciated.

On 26.6.'41 NDH informed Gen. d. Inf. Edmund Glaise von Horstenau, who was "in-charge" for NHD, that they would be glad to send volunteers to fight USSR. On 30.6. first letter was sent from OKW and on 1.7. Hitler wrote a personal letter to Poglavnik about his offer.

In few days about 5000 "volunteers" arrived + NDH formed 2 Air units and was planning to form Marines (1000 men strong).

Volunteers were stationed in Varaždin, where were dressed to old Yugo. uniformes and sent to German training camp at Döllerscheim (Austria). There was formed: "reinforced Croatian Inf. Rgt. 369", which became part of 100. Light (later Jäger) Div. as 3th Inf.Rgt.

        OoB:
        - Rgt.'s HQ,
        - HQ's Kmp.,
        - 3x Btl.:
        - 3 Inf.Kmp.
        - 1 MG Kmp.
        - (11. Kmp. was Bycikle/Rad)
        - 13. Heavy weapons Kmp.
        - 14. PAK-Kmp. (37 mm)
        - 15. Supply-Kmp.
        - Art.Detachment:
        - HQ,
        - HQ's Battery
        - 3 Art.Batt. (105 mm cannons)

All units were horse-drown. Weapons and equipment was German, uniforms were German - they were issued with Croatian Coat-of-Arms (sahovnica).

This was Croatian unit. In Rgt.'s HQ and every Btl. was a German Liasson (sp) officer.

First CO was Col. Ivan Markulj, Chief od Rgt.'s Staff was Col. Stjepan Grlić, CO of Art.Detachment was Ltn.Col. Marko Mesić.

On 21.8.'41 Rgt. left Döllerscheim and went to front.....

        Regards,
        Kocjo

          Bok!

          Hvala!!

Does your book contain any more info on the units actions?

Also does it contain a Nominal Role of Members, Killed in Action etc?

I require info on Franjo Kurnik, enlisted in the Travnik Area in Bosnia but origionally from Sloveinia.
