Maybe not nazi - maybe finnish, canadian,even american - the swaz was very, very popular in the teens and 20s and put on cereal boxes, all kinds of products. Maybe a fraternal org.?

There were several canadian hockey teams of the day whose jerseys bore huge swastikas. Google this and see....

I agree, it could be German but If not based on the markings it could also just a design ring from the 20's.

I was told it was stolen by a person who worked at a hospital during ww2

The person that worked in the Hospital did too appearently. If it is from Europe it probably is Period and German.
