I did a search on bullion eagles and could not find one with this patina. All appear to be silver and shiney. When I look under a loop what shine I get seems to be gold. Could this be? Maybe I am color blind. If it was would it be Krieg? I posted this about a year ago, but had bad pics. thanks for the help

Its definatly an original. I think its a very toned gold eagle. Could be kriegs or heer general. It would really come down to the backing for me. It its a dark blue/almost black then i would go kriegs. Its on straight black, panzer general, or if really dark green then heer general. Either way fine bird with great patina. Matt

I think you will find as a general rule that gold coiled metallic bullion is sewn on with yellow/gold cotton thread as seen from the back. Silver metallic bullion coils are usually sewn on with white cotton thread. Celleon embroidery is thick on the back side too, and is the same thread as the front.
