Can anybody tell me what I belive to be a gothic M represents on a infantry shoulder strap

Hi Ian, the "M" would represent Machine Gun battalion.

Very cool same unit and all. I will post a pic of the boards when I get them the photos I currently have are to large thus the cut job. Question what determines it being a late board?
