I just found this shoulder board at a local antique store yesterday and I would like your opinions on it. I don't collect these so I defer to your judgement. Any thoughts as to the value as well?

It is real and probably prewar or early war private purchase. It looks like it was removable and had the tongue taken off? It could be a sew-in as well but I am thinking it is more likely it was cut off.

Here are a couple more pictures of the attaching edge in case that helps. I initially thought it was sewn onto the uniform but that was just an assumption. Thanks for your comments!
