Also, these "puffy" areas concern me too. A common error when restoring.

it also looks like some dark green peeking through some of the picked areas perhaps a faded reapplied bird ? interesting observation Frank

This is a typical factory applied zig circa 41/42. These show the differences Frank has noted. Not a death knell but it is a valid observation that it is an odd application. I also just am not getting a warm fuzzy feeling on the tabs.

Just curious, but aren't the collar tabs mounted a little high on collar also? I like the tunic though. Mike.

I would say replaced insignia as well. Here is one (M42) from the same manufacturer with original applied eagle and tabs.

Typically and by regulation they should be back more but there are many examples of them being applied and worn "inncorrectly". To me, as Frank noted they are puffy meaning to me not seated.

I am going to bed now Glenn, I experience psychological problems when you start posting your stuff.

I am not too concerned with that very much. Period tabs were applied too high, too low, too this and too that. However, I would look at the manner in which they look in relation to the tunic. To me, its like looking at a super model Vs. a fat girl. Yes, both have the same equipment but they make you feel differently about how you want your friends to see you with them.

Frank, good analogy!! Definite food for thought!

Glenn, nice examples (as always). Now that is a super model and not a fat chick.
