I'm sculpting a German grenadier at the moment.
I wanted to ask you if any of you has seen pic of
a German solder wearing reversible winter combat
parka over a long coat. I have seen plenty of pics
showing soldiers wearing zeltban over a long coat.
But I can't find any pics showing the combo of
reversible winter combat parka over a long coat.
Just want to hear your opinions before I go further.

I would think that the parka would probably be the same size as the greatcoat - chest size etc - when issued to the same individual so I would imagine if you put the 2 together it would be real hard to move your arms etc. Plus not being a uniform expert and unfamiliar with the scale of issue to individaul WW2 German soldier's, I dont know if you have to consider how many would still be in possesion of both the greatcoat and a parka. You have to pack all ypor stuff and a great coat weighs a fair bit...... I know when I was in the army when a new piece of kit came out....you turn in the old style one at the same time or those stingy Supply "Nope don't have it...Nope your not authorised...Nope you don't need it...besides it would get dirty if I took it off the shelf" Techs refused to give you the nice new.....preeecious kit. Just my .02c worth

I have seen the Luftwaffe ground combat jacket worn over the greatcoat. But, never a parka.

Plenty of evidence that this was done... But not regularly...
Karl Hintzer, the Estonian War photographer, has made some nice shots of Estonian troops wearing such a combination...

If you have a pic that shows reversible parka/long coat combo,
please post. I did go through my small collection of books with
no luck.

The figure is going to be a Heer sniper, and it would be cool to
give this figure the reversible parka with the hood over the head.
