      They look pretty good - except for the mottling. Early construction.

                    I have observed this stiching on other boards too, but i dot know what it means.

                      Possibly they were embroidering cyphers and that one was a mistake and then the cloth got used as backing for shoulder boards after being tossed in the scrap bin. Almost sounds like I was there....ha ha.

                          Now thats a pair of boards, that guy must have been huge. Perfect example of previous use cloth being used for the backing. Thanks for sharing,
