Kriegsmarine Schützenschnur genuine?

Hi All,
I found this level 1 Kriegsmarine Schützenshnur on an online auction site.
Do you think it's genuine? It seems similar to the one from an old photo of my father's seen below, although it seems to lack the special clip for attaching the acorn. The texture seems more "woollen" than other pictures I've seen and a lighter blue, but then again seems a better match to the one in the old photo. Comments?

Hi Norm,

I know very little about KM shooting lanyards. I do know that the form of a lot of KM uniforms and insignia stayed very similar in the early Bundesmarine.

I'm going to move this to the Uniforms and Insignia Forum where hopefully you'll get some useful feedback.
