Heer Panzer Tunic and pants

Here is a Panzer Tunic and matching riding breeches. The material is an exact match and the pants are in mint condition with the exception of 1 small moth nip in the front. The boards are sewn in and the eagle and collar tabs are in very nice condition. The ribbons are original to the tunic and it looks to be unmessed with. Hope you like!

That's a beautiful tunic now, and it was when I found it hanging on a tree at the Frankfurt fleamarket on July 29, 1978. I paid $80 for it. The breeches I added to it later, but they matched perfectly. I sold it in the early 1980s when I sold off my very nice collection of German uniforms. Though you can't see them in the pictures you posted, it also has loops for a PAB. Glad to see it's still around.

BTW, I just noticed you have this set listed on the Estand. You describe it as a field upgrade. No, it isn't. This tunic was born an officer's tunic. It was never an enlisted tunic. You might want to post a full frontal and back picture, as I'm sure anyone interested in it will want to see those. This way they will be able to see the turn back cuffs, no holes for belt hooks, etc.

The funny thing is, $80 was near going rate US dealer price for a tunic like this in 1978...some could gouge $100 then, but $80 was not un-common.

Yes, you are so right. I knew when I bought it it was slightly below market value, and that it would take a good chunk out of my budget (I was studying in Germany that summer), but it was one of those things - finding it like that, and it being so nice, that I simply had to buy it. I certainly didn't regret it. Looking at the journal of my collection of that time, I see that when I sold it around five years later, I really didn't make anything on it.

Sadly I have to say the same thing about 1/3 of my collection that I sold about 15 years ago! It is fun and a little heartbreaking as I see a number of items that I sold in that sale on a number of dealer sites over the last 7-10 years or so. They are not always found now the way they left my collection...which was the way they came into my collection.
