    Late War Trousers and Sweater

I just dug these out of storage, and thought I'd share what I think are some neat features on a pair of original E44 Kielhose. The liner material is the artificial white silk or rayon, and so are the foot ties. The neatest feature: marsh camo pieces used to line the bottom leg closure. These trousers are unissued, and a neat example.

The sweater and socks? We'll, they're WWII, and I know folks sometimes ask about what real ones look like - so here some are!

Anyway - I thought I'd share them with our forum colleagues.

    regards, Robert

For a simplified model, these sure have alot of sewing detail.

Has the low-grade nylon liner material like you see on occasion in the M44 jackets.

Nicely marked - note the HBT scrap used to reinforce from the inside

Collar detail - I hope this will help some folks trying to make a call on original items. s/f Robert

My leather reenforced cavalry breeches have the same "Sumpftarn camo" scrap material used in its construction!

Thanks fellows. I got three sweaters, two pairs of socks, about five shirts, and three sets of the elaborate HBT "underwear" that are on the stand. Gave two of the sweaters away to a collecting buddy, but hung onto this one. Glad you like it!

Can't tell... no maker info which makes sense for such a late war piece...but if memory serves me right also E44 stamped which is the clothing distribution depot ...
Mine are (also) in unissued condition and definitely late war using recycled (pulp) wool with brownish content... so poorer quality wool in comparison with your keilhosen!
