    Metal eagle: good or bad?

    Hi Guys,

    I recently stumbled over this metal badge which resembles a breast eagle in shape. It's 95 mm wide, cast (in a soft metal) and has two pins for fastening (with a possible third missing) like on a cap badge, not a needle. It's faintly marked "M in a diamond" at the back...

    What is it? Pre-May45, or of recent manufacture?

    Thanks in advance for your input,

    //Anders

    Hello Anders,

    It's made of lead, it's a (heavy) copy of a original.

        Postwar for sure.., except for bullets and fishweights they didn't use this material.
        It's weak, much too heavy and it bends easily etc..

        There're pics where you can see them making badges of tin on board of a sub-marine though, but insignia is very unlikely.
