Service tunic.

Hi there,I would say that this is a original waffenrock that has been converted into a service tunic with the addition of pockets and a new coller.

It's difficult to tell from the frontal pics, but it looks to me to be an original six button piped tunic. This tunic appears to have a different pattern/cut than a parade tunic especially on the lower part of the skirt.

Not a converted Waffenrock, per se - six buttons as opposed to eight, no central waist seam. Looks to be an old-style service tunic from the Reichwehr era that has been upgraded to a TR-era service tunic. Looks quite nice from the pics.

I think Don is right on the money. If it is indeed an old style service tunic it'll have French cuffs and "slash" lower pockets. It would be nice to have an overall picture of the tunic.

This is a nice item. Bet a few Arty collectors are foaming at the mouth over this, or am I the only red woody

I think that this rather nice piece may also be a "walking out" tunic, as described by Angolia in "Uniforms and Traditions" vol 1, p 110.

I obtained a similar tunic from Torsten Belger a few years ago, but with an officer's breast eagle.

Sorry I can't post pics here as I'm only an associate.

I think these Reichswehr-style tunics are wonderful.

It is a 1928 style enlisted piped service tunic, the eagle was added and the dark green collar. AR 105 was formed in Fall of 1938 or it could be for Artillerie-Ersatz-Abteilung 105/Reserve-Artillerie-Abteilung 105 formed in August 1939. Nice example.
