    Fake Luftwaffe cotton bluegray tunics.

Just wanted to share what I saw today at a show. Sorry I could not take any pics of it, based on the fact that a dealer had it for sale. I, along with others, have been very suspicious of a recent batch of Luftwaffe cotton bluegray tunics which have appeared on the market.......some on ebay..and we even discussed one or two on the GD site. From photos alone, it is tough to tell. But, there were several "concerns". Heer style markings (including a Heer style depot/date marking) in a Heer style location in the tunic, inside features and the lighter shade of bluegray. Today I got to see one at a show and it was very clearly a reproduction. Not very nicely done in fact, when you observe the intimate features. The cotton is just not right, with originals being like Luft tropical tan tunics. The markings look bogus, even disregarding their "non-Luft" location. The buttons did not use the correct style of rings to fasten them to the tunic. Could go on and on. Just wanted to share my observations.

    Tunics ?

Are these the M1935 Tuchrock 4 pocket tunic style or the M1940 Fliegerbluse Willi ?

I`ve seen a few as new Fliegerbluse that fit your description as well.

Willi and I touched on this for a few minutes at the MAX. There was one there that I considered questionable. And, I think that Willi agreed. The markings gave this one away.

Jack and I were just chatting about the markings. The markings, on the one I saw, where inside the right side near the front just behind the buttons. We were discussing another one on another dealer's website, and I will check it out. But, as I talked to that dealer yesterday (about the fake one we saw) and know the advanced collector who sold that one to him, I suspect it will not raise the same "concerns".
