    Saharaina

    Hi everyone,

While not a German tunic the Italian Saharaina was a very popular tunic among german soldiers. So popular in fact that the SS and LW produced their own versions of the tunic. I've had this tunic for over a year but have never been able to establish if its an original wartime piece. The tunic is in unissued condition. I added the insignia and replaced the wooden buttons with German ones. There is no date stamp in the tunic. So I'll post a few pictures with the hope that knowledgeable members will be able to comment as to its origin. So let me thank any contributors in advance. This first pic is a wartime picture showing a Saharaina in wear by an Army officer. Jim
