    Infanterie Regiment 104 (S)

    LS:

On request i'm posting this board with a very typical Überschübe as you can see.

At this moment i'm not 100% sure where the Überschübe cyphers stand for. One could presume it stands for Schützen Regiment 104 after Infanterie Regiment 104 turned in a Schützenregiment after the actions in France in 1940.

    Any information would be welcome.

    Thanks in adavance.

    Eric Mill

It should be for a Sicherungs regiment or battalion not IR 104. There are no matches for this unit on Lexicon but the lists are not complete.

The parenthesis are there to avoid confusion of the "S" with numbers. They are for a security unit.

A wild guess, Banhofs-Wach und Streifen Abt.104 formed in the winter of 44\45. These were sicherungstruppen.

Does anyone know/have the original regulations for the '(S)' designator for use by the Sicherungstruppen? I've looked all over and can't find any reference to it.
