        Thanks, I did not know that, In the US Army my unit supported a Belgian Battalion (1980s) and I had seen the patch in an officers collection as the Piron Brigade.

            The matched pair (note the sizes,I think many pairs are like this and were worn together with the size difference) looks like Artillery and the single is Orange so field police most likely if it was taken in an area of fighting.

              Great Coat shoulderboard

              It looks to me that the Shoulderboard on the right (the long one) is atually a greatcoat shoulder board. I placed, of mine, a regular shoulderboard and a greatcoat shoulderboard side by side and that is what it looked like.

              If that's indeed what it is, truly a rare, rare item. I haven't seen one come up in a long time.

              What I like about this set, the more you look, the better it gets.

                    these belgian lionhead badges are used on many ways
                    - on the uniforms of the brigade piron ( belgium part of the britisch army in WW2 )
                    - many of them are parachuted during WW2 over belgium and many of them are used on teh resistance uniforms at the end of the war
                    - many of them are used on bracelets of the resistance after and during the war
                    - and i have seen some of them on post WW2 belgium uniforms

                    and they are not so difficult y to find , i hope this informations helps you ?

                    i have one in my collection from my grandfather who was in the britisch army at the end of WW2 during the liberation .
