    Thanks so far guys.
It's a shame because I rather liked it, especially as it is being sold as an "untouched".
I guess I will pass it then. Any more comments on it?

      Erik,

'Untouched' en 'Weitze' zijn 2 dingen die meestal niet samen gaan
Er zijn verschillende threads reeds hierover.

Yes please let us know. I know there are several threads concerning Weitze and a lot of you don't like the things he's selling, but I know and seen many things of what he sells in hand, that his stuff is very good. So, let us hear why it is replaced ? In my opinion this is a good and honest wrap.

if it is good, then it will be sold, Jan

But I have read enough stories here on WAF about Weitze and I have seen enough photo's (I must admit: not in hand) to make up my mind.

But, hey, it is not my money

Ive bought some nice things from Weitze, but as with ANY dealer, not all things are what they appear to be, and you the buyer must do your homework. I would certainly buy from him again, and just exercise the same caution I do with any dealer. I too would however pass on this example.

I have bought many good things by Weitze over the years. And must admit that there have been a few flaws here and there.

But I don't believe them to be intentional and he always returned my money swiftly. No problem, even if I had the item for many months.

But what is wrong with the Wrap? I understand you can have a bad feeling about an item without exactly knowing what it is but could anybody be more specific please. Just curious.

                  Anyway thanks for all,

                  Erik

MisterX, what realy detracts me from this tunic is the use of dark green insignia on a mid war production wrap with a non matching 'light green' eagle . The eagle is IMO not original stiched as it is a very sloppy job around the swastika.

It looks to me as this was a unused wrap and insignia's were placed on it later.

I think if you look closely you will find the insignia is the least of your worries. The "sloppy" application of the eagle does not bother me, sometimes they were done meticulously and sometimes not, this is just one that dosnt' appear to be perfectly applied, but I think its the tunic itself that is of greater concern, others may differ. I could hold it in hand and have a different opinion, but typically go with my gut reaction, which is pass.

I agree with Scott. I have doubts that the wrap itself is original. I've bought a lot of good stuff from Weitze over the years, but always had problems with his wool field Grey wraps. I bought and returned three of them which I thought were bad. Finally got a good one from George Peterson. WR Jim

If I am not mistaken, this wrap was discussed about two months ago on the forum here where it received mostly favorable opinions. Happy new year to everyone. Regards
