                        Really neat thread! The battle of Stalingrad is also extremely fascinating for me as well. I had the opportunity to travel to Volgograd in 2001 and spent nearly a week reveling in the chance to walk the very ground and see places that I had previously only read about and tried to imagine. I have a small display case with some badges etc. that I was able to purchase right there in the city and while most of those pieces are not in great shape, they are some of my most favorite items in my entire collection.

                          Paul Tzschoeckell

                          Oberst Paul Tzschoeckell would lead Werfer Regiment 53, at Stalingrad, until a transfer in October 1942. Here is his "miltaerischen Werdegang".
