    HBT Uniform with Green Collar

Odd that this thread is so similar to the last one. This uniform IS a repro - my kids wanted to fix it up as an NCO. I am not sure what model this is, with the green collar as well as the stitched reinforcing above the pockets. Is this a legit pattern, or a pure Hong Kong fantasy? And could it be rigged for an NCO, since it doesn't have officer's cuffs?

A real odd duck - Green HBT, but not reed green. Unlined - medical pouch is made from the same HBT material. I don't know who made it - it has either real or correct repro buttons on it, which narrows the playing field a bit.

Looks like they were trying to make a copy of a lightweight field blouse etc.

I've had a real first pattern dak tunic that had a period upgrade to officers greencollar and also had the neck closure tailored to close as a standard officers with full bullion insignia, although the piece started out wartime issued as a straight em Dak first pattern tunic, and the tailoring was IMO wartime. I've also seenpics of hbt green tunics with the addition of green collar, it all depended to me on the length which the officer wanted the look of a true officers, or maybe a more less conspicous em version to possibly avoid being targeted by snipers if he was in the east on the front lines.

Can you post shots of the interior? Would like to see how conforming they are.

Something like this, it is an issue tunic made from Dutch tropical cloth with the collar added.

There is a photo of a guy wearing a HBT with a dark green collar, I cannot remember where I saw it, it is published somewhere.

Rear seam uses the salvage edge of the material. I don't know if originals ever did this. I did see a Lost Battalions DAK tunic once, advertised as 'Dead On Correct' made this way.

Not sure why they made this tunic with modern interfacing material showing under the button flap. They could just as easily made it without doing that.
