    M43 Tunic Markings ?

Are tunic markings like these without a depot designation very common?

Can post a better image, the 43 on the bottom looks like the date, what is to the left of it.

      John,

That's as good as I have here at work. There is nothing to the right of the date or immediately to the left. There is an 11 on the far left of the date.

So it could not be B II or something like that with the bottom of the II cut off.

I would say the lack of a depot designation is uncommon but not unheard of. I have a tunic that is mint but has no makings because it never went through a depot. I would love to see the rest of the tunic!

I think it was one of those Friday afternoon pieces. The stamping is rather sloppy. Just the 11 and the 43 are visible on that bottom line although it doesn't look like anything is missing or partially stamped. Common sense makes me think the 11 is for Nov. but I've never seen that before thus the original post.

I'll try to post some better photos in the next day or two of the entire piece.

is the breast eagle sewn in the late war m-44 pattern ? is so the tunic is 100% original i almost bought it but declined due to the fact that the bird and tabs are post war applied still a killer looking piece if you can live with that you got a great looking m-43
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

                    Lenny,

That is probably the one. The breast eagle is the M44 sewn in the straight line manner. Interesting thing is that it doesn't go through the lining and there is no sign at all of the lining being moved, adjusted or resewn. If anyone knows how to pull that trick off I'd love to hear it. I honestly didn't think it was possible.

I just got a new puter so when I get caught up moving all the data over I'll post complete photos.

A date with no depot designation is not that uncommon.
