    private purchase panzer wrap

    Does anybody own or have photos of a private purchase officer's panzer wrap? I don't blame those that own them and won't post them here...

    Hopefully there is something out there about this... it must have been done.

    Thanks - Mike

    That they were made in some numbers and exist is of no question and there are a number of members of this site who own examples.

    Having said that, custom made wraps were not owned by a large % of officers based on photos and surviving examples, unlike standard 4 pocket tunics.

    I once owned about 25 years ago a custom Stg officers wrap made by Bulag, most custom PZ wraps that I have seen were very similar to it in details.

    They can be hard to authenicate.

      Mike, you need to post detail pictures, they usually are made out of high quality wool with "silk like" linings either full or partial and I have seen one set in black trikot like SS tunics and there is one example illustrated in a smooth tight weave fabric ? on pages 269-270 of the Pruett-Edwards book on Field uniforms of German's Panzer Elite. As Phil noted, established originals are rare.

        Mike,

        I give in...here are three photos of a private tailored wraps interior. No two I have are alike, but this is a sort of typical one, and they can run from looking like a suit coat to looking like an issue panzer wrap. If you need to discuss one you can email me.

          2. Notice the little covers over the screw down button posts...a nice little tailors touch. Sleeve linings are black also.
