Tunic has loops for a DKiG, belonged to Oberlt. Hans Hoppe, DKiG 13.01.1944.
            72. Infanteri Division was engaged in heavy fighting around the city of Tcherkassy around this time (before the Korsun Pocket battle).

"M4" is the wool type from the factory roll. Is the ink green on the name tag?

                Nice, didn't know this Thanks.

Ink is black, the green tint on the photos is due to my extremely low skill in taking pics.

It is from the camera and light, nothing to do with you.

                  Very nice clean tunic

Great tunic, these bolt stampings are always a treat to find, check out the arms too, sometimes you will even find the wool manufacturers logo along with the bolt number!, nothing ordinary I'd say about the piece, its quite nice, great condition, and has a great history to the man! The deep scallops on the pocket flaps is more often seen on Austrian manufactured tunics, however, its seen on others too, really like this tunic! If it comes up for sale, let me know!

P.S. Ive seen fake bolt numbers applied to total ground up repros too!

Thanks. Looks like Hoppe wasn't satisfied with the pre-applied loops, and made som adjustments himself.

Nice looking jacket...Interesting that M4 is also penned in on the tailors label?
