    Yellow Recruiting Waffenrock

This waffenrock is for sale on a dealer site (note watermark).

It appears to be a recruiting waffenrock (notice roman numerals on the shoulder boards). But its yellow for cavalry.

I know recruiting was orange to start with, and then white later on in the war, but did they ever use yellow?

I cant read German and all the descriptions in German.

    Any views on this?

Also notice the EM GD waffenrock for sale, again any thoughts on that one?

      Hi Lewis,

The number are for Wehrkreis or military district which also is the same as recruiting districts.

      Steve

Below is a Wehrkries map showing the numbers of the of each district and their locations. Looks like this tunic is Westfalen

Hi Steve, thanks for that. So in this case what does it mean for a cavalry waffenrock? I presume hes nots a recruiter, so what would he be?

Signal school, intel or listening assignment within pre-war Gremany

              Lewis,

Also you will find many other waffenfarbe with the roman munbers which are also school, Watch, ADA and/or admin assignments in addition to recruiting.

              Steve

P.S. Soldiers assigned to these Wehrkreis were direct reporting units to the Wehrkreis HQ and were not part of TOE (Table of Organization and Equipment) / combat unit.

It looks like someone who didn't know what they were doing has screwed around with this waffenrock. The two pips do not belong on those straps. This guy was an Unteroffizier and the loop of tress at the base indicates he was an NCO Candidate.

Too bad, this was a beautiful waffenrock before some idiot got a hold of it.

I looked at the other images on Winkler and it is Cav. and appears to be gepruft stamped to a "K R"? The name tag is from Gosler which is in the Wehrkreis. The tress strap was worn sometimes for Oberfahnrichs so as not to cover pips and Unit numbers, in this case he may have been lazy. I think it is okay. Here is the true color
