    Jager Waffenrock

Heres my latest buy, an EM jager waffenrock.

I got this from a very nice forum member, and its shown in the Waffenrock book.

I'm very happy with it, and its named to. Only downside is the unpicked shoulder boards.

Bought the lanyard, and ribbon bar separately, and i think it all looks great together.

    Hope you you like it!

There was another recently on the estand, an nco one with chain stitched numbers. It was a beaut, and very cheap indeed. Unfortunately i missed that one....

Very attractive display. For me the un-picked shoulder boards are not a downside, they reflect historical wear and use during the period and changing regulations, a neat detail. Especially since the jacket is unit marked inside anyway. I think it is great when these have the button for the lanyard, that looks very impressive.

                              Jaeger Tunic

                              A superb tunic, congratulations!

To me the history of the unit adds even more to the piece. If I read the tag correctly, that is Infanterie Rgt. 10. The first battalion of Infanterie Rgt. 10 carried the Jaeger tradition and the "wearing of the green".

This unit was part of the 4. Infanterie Divison. When the division was converted to the 14. Panzer Divsion, the 10. Infanterie gave up her third battalion and was renamed the 108. Schuetzen Rgt. It took the new number because a 10. Schuetzen Rgt. existed with the 9. Panzer Division.

The interesting part was that latter the 108th became a Panzer Grenadier Rgt. So, you would have a Panzer Greandier Rgt. with the I. Battalion maintaining a Jaeger tradition. What Waffenfarbe would they wear?

Just curious and hope I have my history right.

Congratulations again on a wonderful piece!
