Here is a brief unit history for Schuetzen Rgt. 74

Das Schützen-Regiment 74 wurde am 26. Oktober 1940 im Wehrkreis XI aufgestellt. Das Regiment entstand durch die Umgliederung des Infanterie-Regiment 74, aus dessen Stab, dem I. und II. Bataillon. Das Regiment unterstand nach der Aufstellung der 19. Panzer-Division. Taktisch wurde das Regiment der Schützen-Brigade 19 unterstellt. Im Frühjahr 1941 bildete die Kolonne vom Regiment die 12. kleine Kraftwagen-Kolonne des Panzer-Divisions-Nachschubführer 19. Am 5. Mai 1942 wurde das Regiment in Bataillone zu 4 Kompanien umgegliedert. Das Regiment wurde am 13. Juli 1942 in Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 74 umbenannt.
Für die Ersatzgestellung vom Regiment war das Schützen-Ersatz-Bataillon 73 zuständig.
