Help On A Deutsche Wehrmacht Armband

    Hi friends .

I recently bought this armband in e-stand
Take a green ribbon sewn on the bottom.
Someone can tell me that they mean?
I used the search button but I can not find another similar.
    Thank you

    Eduard

The green bar is part of the special camouflage rank insignia designed to be used used by the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS on overgarments. It denotes a rank of Unteroffizier. The armband and insignia appear to be original but it is possible that the rank was added to make this common armband more desirable, especially as the armband looks unused.

        DW Armband

        Eduard,
In Brian Davis' book Badges and Insignia of the Third Reich, he actually shows a drawn picture of one of these (although the stripe is toward the top part of the armband) and says it was a form of rank designation mimicking the 22 Aug, 1942 introduced German Army rank insignia to be worn on camoflage and special combat clothing. He does not explain how the Army designated ranks (nomenclature) aligned with the ranking system on the DW armbands. I hope for your sake someone did not see the book and add the stripe just to make a common, cheap, original DW armband into a rarer, more expensive one although it looks pretty good to me. Good luck, Chris
