Hello,

I've like to start a thread dealing with Luftwaffe Musikschule / Unteroffiziervorschule personnel and their insignia.


Here is a group photo of Luftwaffe Musikschule members and their instructor taken sometime around Christmas 1940.





I'm sorry that I cannot provide a more detailed photo or a close up as I do not own the original photo.

Later today I will post a pair of collar tabs from this group.

LW Musikschule collar tabs?

Here is what I believe to be a pair of LW Musikschule collar tabs. The twist cord and pip may denote class rank or assignment. The Army used a similar system of ranks in it's own Musikschulen.






Note the black base color and light blue piping of the tabs above. The period photograph appear to be a light blue color with a solid silver tress.

Does anyone else have a pair of collar tabs similar to this pattern. If so, please feel free to join the discussion.

Wow! What a wonderful sleeve patch!

This is the first pattern (I think). Sometime later a Diamond shaped patch was used - much like the HJ / LW Technical Schools.

I think PaulR has a single collar tab and hopefully he's join this discussion.

IF you should ever decide to sell that patch please contact me first.

Luftwaffen Musikschule

Here's a photo of a LW Musikschule uniform with the sleeve patch. The students were organized by Hitler Jugend.
