Any thoughts on these wrappers? I really have my doubts,

I truly have no idea, but it would surprise me from this dealer. This is a very serious guy

I find it very strange no Panzer experts comment on these, where are you Byron and Glenn?

      Let us know your thoughts?

I'd like to hear some opinions on the eagles from the police experts... Maybe a link over on that forum would get them in the loop.

        Regards,

They really are iattractive uniforms, but the 2 SS Panzer tunics really got my attention!

I started a thread over on the Police Forum with a link to this discussion. hopefully, we will have some input from our friends with experience in police uniforms and insignia.

            Police wrappers

            Hey Steve.
Did you not sell a similar green wrapper + trousers in early 2000 ?

              Hello,

Please excuse my trespassing in this forum, I generally dare not dip my toe into these waters. I can however offer the opinion that both eagles are definitely bad. The white swastika eagle is a repro based on a bad drawing in one of the "Men at Arms" books. NO such eagle existed. The other eagle has a unit name, something NEVER done by the police. Naming was limited to the civil police city or district of assignment and was ordered discontinued early in the war (1941). Combat units NEVER wore named eagles. It looks like a possibly good Feuerwehr fire department eagle was embroidered with this bad unit name. The black backed green tabs are also bad.

I can not comment on the tunics themselves as these are so extremely rare I have never handled one.

I can't comment on the Police insignia, but I don't like either of the jackets or the AG trousers.

Sorry Lasse Kongo (and others), I have had other things in my life going on.

OK, here I go, (again) I could entertain doubts.

                    Good point Bill

Knowing this information regarding unit names on eagles will be very useful to collectors trying to avoid junk in future.

I completely agree with Bill that these two sleeve eagles are both fakes. No such unit as the fantasy Zagreb Police Panzer patch indicates existed in the German Police TOE. No police eagles embroidered in Panzer pink existed, although there were carmine Feuerschutzpolizei eagles and wine-red Gemeindepolizei eagles embroidered on green wool. The collar tabs are also fantasy insignia but this time made with green Waffenfarbe piping that conflicts with the Heer Panzer pink eagle. Further, there is no period documentation that these green Assault Gunner wrappers were ever authorized or worn by the police.

The sleeve eagle on the black wrapper is a fairly recent fake as Bill indicates. This 2nd Police Armored Company did exist (interior markings) and was formed in 1942 and was last known to be down to 2 officers and 57 men in 1944 (the date the jacket was supposedly issued). With only one scout car left in 1944, it is an odd issue date for a destroyed unit with no more tanks and less than 60 effective personnel.

I did have one long ago, but it was different than this one, I sold it, unfortunately I do not have any pics of it, and I think it was before 2000.

                          Hi Steve,

My friend sent these to me a few minutes ago and asked me to post them for you. I guess you sent them to him back in '99 or '00.

Look forward to seeing you at the MAX.

                          Best regards!!
