Field Blouse Drillich SUEDFROnt

Hi,

I have had this drillich field blouse for many years now. Got it as part of the payment for a pair of SUmpftarn pants, I sold in Germany.

Since it does not fit into my collection, I want to give it to a friend who collects WH uniforms.

Please give me some feedback on the piece ,all details are welcome.

I have seen it worn on photos of Wehrmacht units operating in Bessarabia and Sevastopol in Summer 1943.

I was going to look through my books when I got home, I think it is early West German or DDR, I remember also seeing Dutch tunics in a similar OD HBT cloth but with plastic buttons and a different cut. What ever it is it is PostWar IMO, sorry.

Is there no chance that this is an authentic piece ? I got it from a good source and a couple of collectors, who have visited me , agreed at least on the eagle being ok.

Anyway, if it is a fake, than it would be a shame

I agree, post war (German?) tunic with bad eagle...The buttons have a chance (hollow in the back?)

Your pants are very similar to post War BW GJ trousers, they had a HBT uniform in the 50s I have never seen one outside of photos. This may be what these are. Niether of the two items are WWII German and the Eagle is a reproduction.

sold the jacket to a collector. Although I showed him the comments about the jacket and the fact that it is most likely post war, he still bought it ,since he believed..


1. Eagle obviously fake, but when removed it looked that another eagle had been there before.

2. He only collects drillich and insisted that this jacket is German WW2 and was in use (he has a photo of Nortern Italy 1944 where it is in use) I will try to get a copy to post it. However, apparently large stocks of those jackets were never issued and therefore, the following post war units used them as well.

Apparently the Bundeswehr, as mentioned in the thread, never used this kind of jacket.
