Thougth it was too cheap to be real. I do not understand why people sell reproductions/copys as originals. I consider it fraud.

It is a aged fake, faking will continue as long as there is demand for items. The only thing you can do is read reference books and look at known originals to protect yourself.

I agree. Total fake.
I have never understood why respectful and honest dealers and collectors have allowed fakers to go on without any kind of consequences.
I started collecting in the 1960' and I have noticed dealers who were very trustworthy and honest start to let there standards slip. Profit? Maybe. I guess that only they know why.
Today I just think that too many militaria dealers just are not well enough educated in authenticity and/or don't care.
Fortunately there are still quality people and places (like this forum) that can help us all.

This is indeed an attempt to deceive collectors...
this is a piece of crap with a very bad aged faking
the interior for instance doens't match any known period features of WSS Feldblusen.

It was offered for sale on a Danish auction side called qxl. I really dont know the seller, but he posted the tunic as an original item with a buy it now for 600£. Werry cheap for an original, but way too expencive for a ruined copy.

I've been interested in ww2 for many years, and I'm also reenacting in napoleonic wars. Now time and further interest let me into collecting a long wanted complete german impression, which has been fustrating due to fakers!

It is actually easier to collect items from the napoleon wars than german ww2 stuff.
I'm totally green in this ww2 field, and love this side for its informative information. I cant thank you forum-folks enough.

I'm educated and work in a museum on daily basis. If we restore or replace any thing we mark it (copy/restored) with large letters due to future generations. I think it is okay to restore or copy things, but it should be marked copy with big black ink.
If you copy money you would go to jail. If you copy an item worth the same amount of money, then you wont go to jail? I've missed the point

I agree that marking repros or copies is an excellent idea. The problem is, markings can always be removed or covered up.

Another good idea is to keep records on all original items, such as the purchase receipts, and then make a note on the receipt if the item is altered, restored, or repaired. I'm sure that the next few owners would greatly appreciate this effort!
