All the pieces of the tunic itself, the lining material, pattern, cloth and construction all look period, the 8 button front is odd on an external pocket tunic. As you noted I think the award/loops etc. have been embellished, the DKiG is tacked on. In less it is a lot different in hand, personally would probably pass unless there was a history and a photo.
No history and no photos with this. It does feel and look better in hand but is the worth the risk? Hard call but probably not for the price. Think I'll keep my money unless someone pops up with a photo of a similar 8 button field tunic.
Thanks jhodgson for your help.

John, First thing I noticed was the eight buttons and that the cut of the tunic. Would it be possible that the guy requested the tunic to be taylored in that manner or that the pockets were added later as part of a retayloring? Although I don't think that is the case looking at the back.Jacques
Hi Jacgues, it would be possible someone wanted a "Hybrid" between a RH tunic and the new pattern (1934-35) blouse. It is not regulation etc. It might be a M27 or earlier pattern if that is the case it has been totally reworked and would be very impressive just from the tailoring involved to do this. It does have the old style back and the collar may have been added.
The tunic and collar look period or may have been added etc. I don't like the ribbon bar loops, Germans usually went wider and started a new row more to the wearers right-side with the ribbons before going up, this is center stacked like a US ribbon bar and does not look like it is for a CCC.
I was hoping some of the other uniform collectors would post, I would like to know if any one has seen a potentially converted tunic like this with the 8 button front and external pockets etc.
I have seen this tunic a lot, I know the seller and known him for a while. This tunic doesn`t look as bad as many of you think it is when you have a look at it in hand. It is also listed on the owner`s website ; www.ekmilitaria.com.au
It`s always different to see it in hand then on photo....
YIKES - Get your 2015 prices today - even if it's Aussie Dollars! In all honesty, Andrew, I would stay far away from this tunic if only for the fact that it is atypical and I will bet a lot of money the DKiG has not been on there for 60+ years. If there was ironclad provenance it would be a different story, but I see enough red flags that I wouldn't want to cough up that kind of coin for it. The whole reason for the cloth DKiG's was so that they wouldn't snag on stuff, and yet this one is tacked on so loosely that it would have defeated the purpose. I agree with John on the loops.
I don't think the shape of the two side stitching on the back is typical of the earlier Reichsheer tunics. It is typical in that the shape is halfrounded, but is not as pronounced as Reichsheer era tunics.Jacques

That is $2,400 USD. That is crazy!!! IMHO the tunic is all original in parts but there is nothing on it I trust to be period done. Look at the boards. They are sewn in way too far for me. That is a post war mistake you see all the time, sewing them in up to the braid. The tabs might be ok but the loops I would not trust one bit along with the German cross. I will sell you a untouched Inf officers for that price. I will even add a German cross.
Jacques, If it is period it is some sort of hybrid or modified earleir tunic. I would not buy it but that is just my opinion. On top of the tunic are the loops and award, I think there are enough issues to question if this built etc.
