Thanks, I went through the women in uniform thread in picture forum and found at least 3 types. Exposed buttons like these. Covered buttons, and the Luft metal buttons. But did not find one like this. I have looked in my Luft uniform books and they show 2 types but not like this one. I am hoping that one of our very knowledgeable guys check in and can give me a definate yea or nea!

There are very many versions of these LW jackets, although I have to say I have never seen one with pocket flaps this close to the bottom edge of the coat. There are some threads with photos of these girls on the Forum and I believe if you look closely at them, you will see a wide variety in cut and style.

I have my doubts....unless its been shortened?...but also note that the collar shape is different and the button count (4 versus 3)... ?? but who knows?
Anyway the telephone operator's sleeve patch is actually in the correct upper arm position...for males its low on the sleeve! Nothing wrong with that set up.
If its cheap enough perhaps with the risk?Attached FilesLast edited by NickG; 08-21-2008, 10:10 AM.

here's anothe rpattern
I agree many patterns are possible with female LW troops!
The what I call "office cut" for LW "blitz madel", so single breasted V-neck
suit-jacket style,
but also "field pattern" FLAK personnel uniforms,
like flieger blouse types, but with female buttoning as depicted in post 4 (link from the Guild)
and a short M44 type (again female buttoning) as shown below...many patterns!Attached FilesLast edited by NickG; 08-21-2008, 10:11 AM.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123 This is on ebay. The guy just answered me and said it had a factory sewn eagle before, but sent me no more pictures. I am going to pass, but there are 3 hours left if any of you are bigger gamblers than I am.

It's for sure a shortened one, if it is genuine. In fact, as far as I know, there were only three major styles of female Luftwaffe jackets, the Kostümjacke (suit jacket), which was the standard dress together with a skirt, the hip-length jacket with covered buttons often seen with Flak personnell, and the M44 jackets shown on the rare pic (thank You for posting!).
Hope Gran Sasso see this thread when he returns from holidays, he is the expert.
Have a nice day,
Steve
