    Glenn & Lenny, thanks for sharing your tunics, both are nice . Tailor quality fit was pretty low on the priority list by 44'! If you do a quick comparison on the 43' and 44' Posen depot tunics I posted the differences are quite interesting. IMHO, the changes illustrate the rapidly deteriorating situation from 1943 to 44'.
    • Italian wool on the 44' as opposed to the better quality German wool on the 43'
    • Later dark blue painted buttons vs. green paint
    • Higher level of finish on the earlier tunic
    • Scraps used for board loops on later example

      Here is another "P44" in Italian Wool with the same features and synthetic rayon lining material. Probably the same manufacturer.

                  The original tunic spec calls for the topmost buttonhole to be 4.5 cm from the front edge and the second to the bottom buttonhole to be 3 cm from the front edge. The bottommost buttonhole is usually also 3 cm from the front edge.

                  All are basically in a straight line from the collar to the waist. The front edge is, of course, angled with respect to the buttonholes. The buttons are to be in a straight line from collar to waist and centered on the torso, according to the Riebert manuals.

                        I assume yours is dated '44, right Juan? I dont believe I ever saw a '43 with that style eagle. Glenn

                          The style is M 43. The tunic markings do not show a date. I am including the markings. I am sure it was of late war manufacture.I had seen several tunics with the same cofiguration. There are some posted in this thread

                                Juan, your tunic is dated 1944, They went to one digit dates later in the War. "F4" Frankfurt depot received 1944. This is a late stamp also with the height range, probably later 1944.
