Graf Spee cap tally opinions please

I managed to buy this Cap Tally from Graf Spee.
This one came from a very old collection…

Can anyone tell me if this is a original piece or even post a picture so I can compare both?

Hi there,

I recently learnt the same of a Prinz Eugen tally cap i have, very same in the way it was made. Since then i have learn't a lot from fellow members in what a real one should look like and be made of....

The one pictured below is a beauty!!!

These are being sold as a "buy it now" item on ebay from a reputable maker of replica cap tallies. In the description he is clear that they are replicas. He also has Bismarck, Tirpitz, U-boat tallies, etc, and in the case of the first two I listed, they never existed as named tallies.

They are selling for around 15 dollars I think.

Unfortunately, these are being resold at shows and elsewhere as real which is a shame but happening.

The GS tally above by tgn is real without question.

Thankfully I managed to get my money back as the seller is a nice guy.

Glad it worked out for you mate... Never be afraid to ask questions as the knowledgable KM collectors are more than happy to help. I think there is fewer KM collectors in comparison to other wings of the Third Reich they are always welcoming other new KM collectors.
