Need Help On My Grossdeutschland Cuff title!

    Hi guys,
I really need your help. I just bought this and it passes the burn test. I always wanted one for my collection so I hope it's original. I have a return policy but I leave this Sunday for boot camp so if I have to send it back, it has to be soon! If you need more pictures, let me know. It looks to me like it's original and its uniform removed too! I love uniform removed things.

    Thanks,
    Justin

    justin,

I love the front side, everything looks great. The bias material on the back isn't something you commonly see on this style of CT but it was done. So I believe its okay.Did you check with Scott Prichett? He specializes in GD and if anyone would know for sure it would be him. But from what I see its okay.WR Jim

I also sent Scott a PM so hopefully he will comment soon. If you seen this cuff for sale, how much would you pay, considering it's original? I do know I paid way below the going rate, only $215.00.

A little more than I would pay for a reproduction I think.

It looks very similar to the reproduced CT's that were made for the first edition of H Spaeters History of GD. The first run in German were presented with a very good repro cufftitle, have you blacklighted it?

The backing is typical of these repro Ct's and I have never seen an original machine embroidered CT with this backing.

regarding the price $215..............you know what they say, "if its too good to be true..."

To tell the truth, and I hope Scott will tell differently, but I would pass on this. I don't like the back of it. On the front it looks ok, but the back is alarming. No, not for me. The price is an alarm too !!

It passes the burn test, black light test, and it is made out of a thin black material. The material almost feels sort of like velvet. I am not sure how doe skin feels but this could be it. I believe what Scott says to be true. The material is thin and would need some sort of re-enforcement so the stitching didn't pull out.

Doe Skin sort of feels like a wet chamois, like what you use to dry a car with - the real ones that is.
