Agree with Arek on both accounts. BTW, I looked at all the books I have and he doesn't show-up I thought at a minimum I could catch him in the '39 rank list, but no luck. There's a Hans Petrich in there (& the DK list), but no Franz. There is a Franz born in 1901 and KIA in 1943 on the German War Graves Commission's site, but with no rank shown. Could be him as Franz doesn't appear in the '44 rank list (which he possibly could have if promoted to Major by then).
