Thanks Paul. No I didn't black light it as I am not a particular fan of that method of detecting fakes. I am now sure the shield is real. Saw one exactly the same on the Collectors' Guild site and also this one....www.germanpolice.org
Nice to get things cheap originals in this way. Balances out the fakes I bought at a load of money!
