Hi,

Could anyone refer me to a good source of information concerning the type of training and level of mountain experience required for a trooper during the WWII to be awarded this trade badge...?

In addition, any references as to the mountain troop unit histories?

Start with "Alpine elite" by James Lucas, googling "mountain troops" and related words will also bring you a wealth of information. If you only speak English you are fairly limited as far as Unit Histories but there are some .
