NSDAP Swallow's Nest - Please Take A Look!

Hi Everybody,

I've found this Swallow's Nest. According to my research (or rather Brian Davis's book), it is a late pattern NSDAP Political Leadership for trumpeters and musicians at Kreis Level.

Hopefully, in spite of my terrible scans (sorry but I normally use photos), you can see that it is in excellent condition and is complete with RZM control tag.

Is it genuine? I have to say that I have never seen one of these before but my feeling is that, yes it is. Am I right? It seems very well made, using velvet, etc., and an unlikely subject for a faker, though I suppose these days nothing would surprise me.

Assuming this is genuine, can anyone tell me anything else about this? Are they scarce? And dare I ask, any ideas as to value, the seller is looking for £65. I don't know if this is cheap or expensive.

the swallow nest looks O.K. to me , and as far as i know they are not being reproduced.

As for price i do not know but are these supposed to be in pairs ? and as the P.L items are not always so collectable as regular forces etc, its down to the purchaser.

It looks fine to me as well. I think the price is a bit high for a single, but they're not all that common so perhaps not. I've a pair of the same level nests, and some SA nests, and they really are not very easy to come by. On the other hand, they are not (in my experience) a high demand item.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. In the end I decided to buy it. A nice piece, albeit single, and such good condition. I even managed to get the price down a little which helped.
