Need help with Luft. uniform photo. What is the rank?

    Hey guys,
Im generaly over on the helmet forum, but Ive dropped in to see if someone here can help. Ive just purchased a grouping that includes a nice Luft DD helmet and its supposed to include the former owners ID book, I guess its called a soldbuch? Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts they could share as to what they see in his ID pic. I would be greatfull for any info. These are the only pics. I have, as it is in transit.

    Thanks

I cannot wait to see more of the book, when you get it!! He is a the equivelant of a Major in the High Grade Career Field(can tell by the golden outer piping on the tabs), as a Luftwaffe Administrative Official.

The exact name of his rank will depend upon his specialty, which is surely named in the book.

For me, the highlights of this display are the documents!

Rank is Regierungs-Baurat, equivalent of a Major. The man was a Beamter des bautechnischen Verwaltungsdienstes der Luftwaffe (official of the construction work administration of the air force).

Thank you!! I could not make that one out!

His shoulderboards had the bright red nebenfarbe! I have not seen that combination of tabs(High Grade Career) and boards on a period tunic before. Very nice!

Thaks very much for the information. Im being told he was a uniformed civilan in a technical position. As such do you think he would have been issued a combat helmet?
                Thanks

Yes I would feel certain that he was issued or had to buy a helmet.

Perhaps he had to wear the uniform only for the wartime, but he was a member of the Luftwaffe. So he also got a limited stock of combat equipment, even if he never left his desk in the construction administration (what is not sure as the Luftwaffe built in occupied countries, and someone had to plan and approve the work).
