Orignal "F" for Feuerwerk Sonderabzeichen ? Need opinions

    Hello guys,

What are your opinions on this Feuerwerk insignia ? For Unteroffizier or Soldaten ?

Insignia for Pioneer troups or Infantery ?

Original ? It was pasted into an foto album ...

Do you have already seen original fotos with this insignia ?

    Thanks a lot !

    Kind regards, Ed

    Hi Ed,

IMO this badge is OK. It is an artificier badge for NCO's. This where ordnance troops / specialists. Do not make the mistake to call them Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD or NEDEX in French). A feuerwerker could be compared to what we call an army ammunition technician. They also knew a lot about the guns. These guy use to wear the red waffenfarbe as artillerie. After 7 juni 1944 this was changed into orange red for all ordnance units.

      Greetings Ed,

Thaat is a very nice Feuerwerker patch! I really like the bullion circle. I have a medical specialty patch with the same style of bullion. The band means that the soldier recieved training prior to the was.(Uniforms & Tradition,Angolia-Schlicht,vol2,pg 32.

        thanks

Thanks Willem for your picture and comments (OK for NEDEX )

I'm happy to see this original picture !

Are you sure that these guy weared only the artillery waffenfarbe ? Not all ? (infantery, pioneer, gebirgsjaeger ... ?)

I thought that an artificier is "usefull" in all category ?

        Thanks Fred for comments !

I did not know if the bullion circle was good, your opinion "reassures" me

I thougt that this band means that this insignia war for sergent, ... but the training prior is a idea !

        Thanks for help !!!

        Regards, Ed
