DAK General der Panzer fieldblouse

You would have to post a lot more pictures to discuss the tunic. All that can be said right now it that it looks like a DAK Tunic and has the insignia for a Panzer General etc. These are rare as all get out so unless there is a COA from Jesus or this is in a Museum or Collecting Titan's possession I would have doubts unless it was airtight.

It looks like it never was used in the desert, continental used may be?, also is an issue tunic with no name. When I saw it last night at the dealer site I almost fell out my chair!!! I didn't even ask for a price since the last DAK Heer general tunic(private tailored) I saw cost around $19,000!!!!!
My problem with this type of tunic(enlisted men) is that you only have to put general gold buttons and general tabs(over the existing regular collar insignia) and shoulderboards....presto...a DAK general. I know this was made very often by the officers/Generals on the field and theres plenty of period photos of the practice, but because of the "rarity" factor and price tag, I personaly would like a little more info on the piece, like a name of the owner and evidence of him wearing the tunic.
This tunic could be perfectly fine and compleatly original and if the price is right I would love to own it BUT also could be question because of the branch, rarity and lack of solid provenance on when it was made a General tunic, just my humble opinion...of course.

I've had a few people ask me about this one and as I pointed out to them an Afrikakorps tunic with no wear, no fading, supposedly a POW with what looks to be a near mint tunic.
Mint 1st pattern tropical tunics do turn up and it would be very easy to turn one into a Generals tunic.
Definitely not for me.

Hi
I agree with the previous comments. I am very skeptical but the collar boards and shoulder boards looks very nice from the distance. The placement of the shoulder boards on the seams look very good. I would like to get closed up of the insignia. I hope that they did not messed a nice EM tropical tunic!!

I went to the dealer site and looked over all the pictures of this tunic. All insignia appear original and everything is hand sewn. The breast eagle is green backed, but the quality does not strike me as "general quality", but I've seen worse on original generals tunics, so its probably fine. Doesn't seem much like a POW piece, at a minimum the eagle would have been removed and I would expect more wear. Possibly the owner was a POW, but just not in this tunic.
Everything is done correctly, boards are sewn in perfectly along with the award loops with proper skill and up to standards...the only question is by who, and when? Photos of the back side of the collar under the tabs would be in order, but won't resolve anything since it is an converted EM tunic. For whatever kind of money it is, you would definitely want some ironclad provenance. What happened to his matching M-43 or general's tropical overseas cap?

Yes Tim,
The skulls are sitting a little high but this wouldn't concern me as much as the fact that the skulls aren't sitting tightly on the collar as though they had been there for 66-67 years. There doesn't appear to be any indication that these have been on there for long at all.
Richard makes a very good point about the sewing of the Generals insignia, "the only question is by who, and when?". I have to agree, who and when.
I'm sure that this tunic will sell and it will make a very nice looking addition to someone's collection, but when it comes to the tunic being original I wouldn't feel comfortable with it in my collection.

I dont believe a word of it personally. Almost mint 1st pattern with all insignia attached, check the buttons, little if any wear, this was never a General's tunic and never worn in warfare, IMO.
