Yes it is! It may just be me, but I have found that the Jäger/Gebirgsjäger piping on dress tunics a little on the "softer" or lighter side than field tunics. Here's a piped Admin colonel for comparison:

Yes, I agree, I tihnk the dress piping is closer to the "true" colors for branches but I am sure tailors used HV and GJ/J piping for both. Same thing with PG and J/GJ later in the War. You see Nebel wearing red boards or tabs etc. all the time after 44'.

Very nice Admin tunic, I do not remember seeing that one before. It should be in the closet with George Michael and my tunics.

Sorry for necro posting but I was currently offered a tunic with the same little feature. Even the lining looks similar.
Seems like they were made by the same tailor.
