You might want to post this one and the other one in Black-(1st pattern SS EM) on the SS section. It may be Panzer but also very early SS officer's eagles sometimes were made like this. Those guys would know. Nice lot.

That is a weird one, I looked at my books, it looks smaller then a breast eagle and bigger than most hat insignia. I am confused on that one, maybe someone else will know. See what those SS collectors think it is. Odd piece but very nice.

If possible, I would like to see images of the other two Officer bullion breast eagles.

              Jay,

Thanks for posting the BEs - the Army bullion BEs are a subarea of collecting for me.

Now that looks more like it is breast eagle size, that is an odd one. I have seen eagles with heads reversed but they are very rare. It will be interesting to hear what this is.

                    Eagle

                    Greetings All,

From what I understand the eagle with the left facing head on black is a judicial eagle.

The eagle on grey is not the early Waffen SS type...Its a sleeve eagle for Bahnschutz (rail road security). If the backing had been black it would be early SS as the embroidery is pretty much identical for both, as far as I know! The Bahnschutz of course later became an organization under SS control.
In general all eagles looking right are political, governmental, para military
or sometimes very early Heer (during the Reichswehr transition to Heer).
The eagle on black facing the other way could indeed be an eagle for a judge's robe!!! I agree with Fred!

                        judge

Breast eagle for a judge is a possibility

Yep, definitely a judicial eagle. I've had a few of these and most had red tongues sticking out of the eagle's mouths (but not all).

                              Very nice eagle, BTW!

                              Regards,
