    moleskin tunic

Anyone got a picture of the reichswehr moleskin tunic with insignia attached??

Not wartime insignia but prewar insignia, like it would have looked like when it was first issued..

    Kind regards
    Jens

      Hello Jens,
concerning the insignia worn, it depends of the time you are looking for. In theory, when first issued before the adoption of the Hoheitsabzeichen, the moleskin tunic did bear only the Reichswehr Litzen and Reichswehr SB. After the adoption, for NCOs/EMs, the breast eagle worn would have been the first type woven on light grey backing, the armbranch Litzen with Feldgrau middle stripe and pointed/no piping SB (wool) or moleskin SB.
sorry i have no personal pictures at the moment
      Hope it helps...

          Jens,
Here's a collar tab for the Reichsheer moleskin tunic - standard post-June 1927 RH Doppellitzen on a moleskin backing.

Are the litzen the same as the ones on dark green badge cloth backing??

Yes, except that the center stripe is field gray instead of dark green...

Sorry for all the stupid questions, but does this mean that this tab has reichwehr litzen and later backing??

No, your tab is the post-1936 configuration for the field blouse (note the bluish dark-green center stripe and the dark green backing).
For in-depth coverage, I highly recommend the excellent Reichsheer reference book that was mentioned earlier in the thread. It's authored by Adolf Schlicht and Juergen Kraus, and can be ordered directly from the publisher (Verlag Militaria in Vienna) via their website (http://www.verlag-militaria.at). It's expensive, but well worth the investment if you're interested in the pre-Wehrmacht period.

                      Jens

Here is a Reichswehr Moleskin jacket. Although the collar has a peiod update, the breast eagle remains unchanged. It has the white Hoheitsabzeichen feldgrau or grey backing.

Not it had the turn back cuffs, side ramps, and faux button tamps in the rear. It was contructed just like a Reichswehr Rock

Verlag Militaria has a great book on Reichswehr uniforms and equipment, it is my bible. I can send more pics from the book or mine if you wish, just send me a PM

                        Hello Jens and Carsten,
from my screen, on the last tab posted, the backing is dark green , but IMO it has a dark Feldgrau middle stripe, so post-1933 and pre-september 1935...
