    Luftwaffe greatcoat, or is it?

I finnaly got this greatcoat which i actualy bought some time ago.

Well... i think its LW, or is it something else?
I'm not realy a LW collector, but it was cheap so...

    Coat.

Looks like it had tabs that were removed.

    Stamps.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Thanks, was it normal to put on LW tabs?
I beleve a yellow tab was normal LW and a red tab was FLAK ??

Nice coat. Very small chest size. From one of my favorite town in Germany, Wurzberg!

Hi, looks indeed like a nice LW coat. The tabs were mostly removed during the war so you don't have to replace them. About the colour.... you have more than just yellow and red. Those colours are supose to tell you in what branch they were active. You have red for Flak, Yellow for pilots and paratroopers, green for fielddivision, white for herman Göring, blue for medics... ... ... etc... and that's only luftwaffe! So buy some books or search for some extra information about the colours on the web. good luck

            Thanks guys!
Hmm i'm not sure if i will keep this, but if i sell i doubt that i get much money for it.
Since it has a hole below on the edge and it is a small size.
So i'm thinking of making something out of it, some equipment on it, helmet or mutze..

What would be best for a greatcoat?

I would buy it before I would want to see it butchered. I have a nice set of admin boards or a set of pink piped LW EM straps I would put on it, if it were mine. Please dont kill it.

Whoops sorry! i didn't mean cutting it up
No no i mean making a mannequin out of it!
Putting it on a mannequin... hehe my english ain't the best i see.

I got a pair of Flieger/FJ Hauptfeldwebel boards but those are the sewn-in type and i need slip-on boards...

If it were mine I would dress it up with a helmet, Flak enlisted shoulder boards, and combat gear. I think these wartime greatcoats make great combat displays.
